OVERVIEW
Maeve Skin came to us with a vision to create something that didn’t yet exist: a true skincare brand for pregnancy. The category was filled with body butters, belly lotions, and simple oils, but little that brought the efficacy, intention, and ritual of modern skincare into one of the most transformative seasons of a woman’s life.
The challenge: bridge two distinct categories, skincare and pregnancy care, without falling into the expected visual and emotional language of either. Maeve needed to feel credible and high-performance, but also deeply human. Aspirational, but real. A brand that could speak to the physical changes of pregnancy while honoring everything happening beneath the surface, too.
We began by looking beyond the product itself and asking what women are truly navigating during pregnancy. Your body is changing, stretching, and becoming unfamiliar in ways you may or may not feel prepared for. It’s emotional, hormonal, powerful, and deeply personal. And in a season where so much attention shifts toward the baby, we saw an opportunity to create something intentionally centered on the mother.
From there, we built Maeve Skin around a new kind of pregnancy ritual. Not simply applying a product, but creating a pause in the day to reconnect with your body, care for yourself, and remember the beauty and strength in what it is doing. The brand positioning brought skincare-level intention into pregnancy care, reframing the category around the woman experiencing the transformation, not only the transformation itself.
The visual identity followed that same philosophy. We created a world that felt cool, modern, and emotionally resonant, intentionally moving away from the soft, overly sentimental cues that dominate traditional maternity branding. Every touchpoint was designed to hold both realities at once: the rawness and the beauty, the strength and the vulnerability, the person you’ve always been and the mother you’re becoming.
